Guest Speaker: Felix Pflücke

Felix Pflücke, legal academic at the Universities of Oxford and Luxembourg, will talk about his research on financial influencers, so called ‘finfluencers’. Felix will present: - How finfluencers operate and their business models. - ⁠How finfluencers are governed by EU and national law as well as social media platforms. - ⁠How to distinguish good from bad financial advice on social media. Retail investors are particularly vulnerable to dishonest financial influencers online, creating challenges for consumers and regulators alike. Felix is the project coordinator (Research Scientist) of an interdisciplinary FNR project dealing with the regulation of digital assets. His work has been published, for example, by Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, The New York Times, Financial Times, and RTL.
